With an investment of more than 21 million pesos, the municipal president Jesús Nader Nasrallah, accompanied by his wife Aída Feres de Nader, president of the DIF Tampico, and the members of his Council, inaugurated the construction of the second and third stages of the Laguna del Carpintero tourism project, which will offer more recreational options and a greater offer for visitors.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, the Secretary of Public Services, Pepe Schekaibán; the Secretary of Public Works, Pedro Pablo Rangel; and representatives of the business community of Tampico were also present, in order to witness the great changes in tourist services promoted by Mayor Jesús Nader Nasrallah.

Historic work in the area of tourist infrastructure
The head of the commune stressed that his administration has developed a historic work in the area of tourist infrastructure, positioning the municipality as the main destination of the entity.
“Today Tampico is celebrating, we are inaugurating the second and third stage of the Laguna del Carpintero Urban Park. We have turned this space into one of the most important tourist attractions in Tamaulipas and in the entire Northeast of Mexico,” he said.
Investors are interested in Tampico
In addition, Jesús Nader reported that the renewed tourist offer of the city has given greater commercial dynamism not only to Tampico, but also to the metropolitan area of southern Tamaulipas, and has attracted the interest of investors for the expansion and opening of new establishments in various areas.
“This Laguna del Carpintero Park has also become a magnet for investment and development. Delivering the expansion of this beautiful tourist site fills me with pride; this is the Tampico that we all wanted and today we are delivering it not only to the people of Tampico, but to all the inhabitants of southern Tamaulipas,” stressed Jesús Nader Nasrallah.
New arrangements for Laguna del Carpintero
Regarding the work carried out on the south side of Laguna del Carpintero, the municipal president reported that modern elements were built for the comfort of visitors.
Among the new elements are the expansion of the bicycle path and the jogging track, the construction of walkways, the installation of reinforced ironwork on the boardwalk, and the expansion of the north and south parking lot with asphalt concrete, curbs and walkways in hydraulic concrete.
In addition, a commercial area was built, benches and picnic tables were installed, and ornamental public lighting, landscaping and eight canopies were installed for recreational and social areas.
In this way, the Tampico City Council, headed by Jesús Nader Nasrallah, consolidates the city in the tourism sector to attract more visitors at any time of the year.
