Following the report of a cooling off that is being registered between elements of the Mexican Army and armed civilians in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Coahuila sealed its borders with said state to prevent criminals from entering Coahuila territory.
Federico Fernández Montañez, Secretary of Security in Coahuila, reported that in coordination with the Navy and the State Police, they activated the protocol to seal off the northern area of the state and thus prevent the entry of criminal cells.
Likewise, the official indicated that artillery units and a significant number of elements were deployed in the municipalities of Hidalgo and Salinillas, thus closing the borders between the states of Coahuila and Tamaulipas.
It should be mentioned that it was around two o’clock in the afternoon this Saturday when it was reported about the confrontation that took place on the airport highway in Nuevo Laredo, a situation in which no deaths or people arrested have been reported so far.
