Fatal Road Accident on the Victoria–Matamoros Highway Claims the Lives of Trauma Specialist Marisela Mora González and Her Three Children
A fatal road accident on the Victoria–Matamoros highway claimed the lives of trauma specialist Marisela Mora González and her three children, causing great concern among the health sectors of Nayarit and Tamaulipas.
A family from Nayarit was left mourning after doctor Marisela Mora González, a specialist in traumatology and orthopedics, and her three children, Dafne, Nicole, and Elliot, lost their lives in a car accident on Federal Highway 101 Victoria–Matamoros, in Tamaulipas.
The accident occurred at kilometer 236+500, near the Santa Teresa ejido, in the municipality of San Fernando, when the white Nissan Versa in which the family was traveling, bearing Nayarit license plates, collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling from north to south and towing a Toyota Camry.
According to information provided by Tamaulipas Civil Protection, three of the four occupants of the Nissan Versa died at the scene of the accident. One of the minors was transported by ambulance to receive medical attention, but died while being taken to the hospital.
The force of the impact caused the vehicle to be severely damaged and its occupants to become trapped inside. As of the time of the official report, authorities stated that the identity of the person driving the Ford F-150 involved in the accident was unknown.

Who Was Doctor Marisela Mora González?
Doctor Marisela Mora González was recognized in Nayarit for her work as a specialist in traumatology and orthopedics. She provided professional services at the Nayarit Center for Rehabilitation and Special Education (CREE) in Tepic, in addition to working as a specialist physician for the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in the municipality of Soto La Marina, Tamaulipas.
The news caused great concern among family members, friends, and coworkers. The Nayarit DIF System expressed its condolences through its social media platforms following the death of the specialist and her three children.
The tragedy leaves a Nayarit family mourning and has also caused deep concern among the medical community and the people who knew the specialist’s work.

They Traveled to Tamaulipas for a Quinceañera
According to information provided by Fernando Alcántar, Marisela Mora’s husband and the father of the victims, the family had traveled to Matamoros to attend the quinceañera celebration of a relative.
Alcántar reported that the bodies will initially be laid to rest by relatives in Tamaulipas and will later be transported to Tepic, Nayarit, where the funeral ceremonies will continue and their burial will take place.
The loss of doctor Marisela Mora González and her three children has generated expressions of solidarity in Nayarit, particularly among those who shared her professional career in the health sector and at the CREE.
Authorities in Tamaulipas continue investigating to determine the exact circumstances under which the accident occurred and establish the corresponding responsibilities.
