The 2025 Tamaulipas Carnival promises four days of joy, music and color, with the participation of the municipalities of Altamira, Ciudad Madero and Tampico, expecting an attendance of more than 50 thousand people and an economic impact of 20 million pesos. The celebration will feature the presence of Michelle Vieth, Raquel Bigorra and Mariana Ochoa as special guests.
This year marks 101 years since the first edition of this great party, and for the first time, the three municipalities of the metropolitan area will join forces to take the celebration to a new level.
The event will begin in the municipality of Altamira on February 27 with the traditional burning of bad mood and the crowning of the kings of the carnival.
In this regard, Mayor Armando Martínez extended the invitation through Telediario Tamaulipas, “everyone is cordially invited. That day we will have ‘Social Class’, a very festive, very carnival-like group, on the dock in the center of the city.”
An event for all of southern Tamaulipas
The carnival route will continue on Friday, February 28 in Altamira with the parade of comparsas and floats on Cuco Sánchez Boulevard and the presence of “Alex Mont and Merenglass.”
Then, on Saturday, March 1, the celebration will move to Ciudad Madero, where the parade will go along the coastal boulevard of Playa Miramar, culminating with the presentation of the group “La Cassetera” in the Plaza Gobernadores.
Finally, the carnival will close with a flourish in Tampico on Sunday, March 2, with a parade on the Perimetral, from Luna Street to 20 de noviembre Street, a journey of almost 3 kilometers. The celebration will conclude at the fairgrounds with a special concert by the Kumbia Kings.
The mayor of Ciudad Madero, Erasmo González, highlighted the importance of the event as an opportunity to enjoy the culture and tourism of the region.
“We have joy, celebration, a family atmosphere. Come visit us, not only for the carnival, but to enjoy all the beauty that the south of the state has.”
He even jokingly assured that “even the Martians have already signed for us that there will be good weather.”
For her part, the mayor of Tampico, Mónica Villarreal, called on all families from the Huasteca and from Mexico to join the celebration.
“We invite all families from the Huasteca and from all of Mexico to join us for these four days. We are going to show the joy and enthusiasm that characterizes us,” she mentioned.
