
The general director of the Integral Port Administration (API) of Tamaulipas, Gustavo Guzmán Fernández, stated that the start of operations at the Puerto del Norte “is imminent”, this after the meeting with the Secretary of the Navy, Raymundo Pedro Morales.
He said that the Secretary of the Navy will continue the previous agreements with the previous administration, promoting the port development of Tamaulipas.
“The Navy supports this project due to its preponderant geographic position, both for TECMEC, as well as the development poles of the administration of our president, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum,” he said.
Gustavo Guzmán Fernández, general director of the Integral Port Administration of Tamaulipas, broadly explained the vision, projects, challenges and achievements of what is the Puerto del Norte, where it was highlighted that the Navy fully supports and backs the project due to its privileged geographic position.
He added that the start of operations at this deep-sea port is imminent.
“The start of operations is imminent, with the help and support of the Navy in coordination with Governor Américo Villarreal, we are working to get it up and running soon.”
Recently, the Governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal, presented the projects related to foreign trade, from the construction of the fiscalized area in the dry port of Ciudad Victoria to the expansion of international bridges in Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa, which will be accelerated with the support of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM).
In another work meeting with the general director of Banobras Jorge Mendoza, the Governor presented the projects of the BRT or Metrobús type Passenger Transportation System, for the metropolitan area of the south of the state (Tampico) and Río Bravo- Reynosa, which will solve the mobility problem of thousands of people.
