The Secretary of Economy of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, paid a working visit to the EMERSON company facilities in Nuevo Laredo as part of the ongoing strategy to engage with the maquiladora sector. During the visit, she presented the incentives, programs, and support mechanisms available to strengthen investment, competitiveness, and local suppliers.

During the meeting with company directors and executives, who recently celebrated 30 years of operations in this border city, the Secretary emphasized the importance of maintaining constant dialogue with the industry to understand its needs and create conditions that foster its growth and continued presence in Tamaulipas.

“It is essential to maintain close communication with the maquiladora industry to understand its needs firsthand and create the conditions that will allow it to strengthen its growth and remain in Tamaulipas,” stated Ninfa Cantú Deándar.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Economy presented various incentives, programs, and support schemes, including loans for the productive sector, aimed at boosting new investments, strengthening established companies, and promoting the development of local suppliers.

The Secretary emphasized that one of the priority issues is expanding the participation of Tamaulipas-based companies in the maquiladora industry’s supply chains.

“We seek to strengthen and expand regional supply chains to generate greater opportunities for Tamaulipas companies to integrate into the industry’s supply chains,” she stated.

EMERSON maintains a workforce of approximately 700 employees in Nuevo Laredo and, according to the Ministry of Economy, stands out for its employee care and development practices, reflected in low employee turnover rates.

As part of the visit, Ninfa Cantú Deándar toured the production areas accompanied by members of the company’s management, where she learned about the operational processes and greeted the staff, whom she recognized for their effort and commitment to strengthening the industry located in the region.
