During the winter holiday season, the Green Angels Corporation provided free assistance to 2,486 tourists on Tamaulipas highways, offering mechanical support, tourist information, and emergency assistance.
Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism for Tamaulipas, highlighted that thanks to their presence, thousands of travelers enjoyed safe journeys throughout the state.
During the holiday period from December 18, 2025, to January 5, 2026, the Green Angels, part of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), deployed a significant operation to guarantee the safety and assistance of travelers on the highways.
During this period, the corporation provided a total of 631 roadside assistance services in Tamaulipas, including basic mechanical assistance, tourist information, emergency support, and other necessary interventions to facilitate the travel of national and international tourists.
As a result of these efforts, 2,486 tourists received direct assistance, receiving timely solutions that allowed them to continue their journeys safely and without major setbacks.
The most common services included minor repairs, providing road information, and assistance in breakdown situations.
Additionally, the Green Angels patrols covered a total of 69,835 kilometers on the state’s main highways, maintaining a constant presence to detect and respond to drivers’ needs.
Furthermore, 151 calls were received on the toll-free number 078, through which telephone assistance, guidance, and referrals to roadside services were coordinated.
Regarding more serious incidents, the organization responded to 7 traffic accidents, collaborating with authorities such as the National Guard, State Guard, and emergency services to provide immediate support to those involved and contribute to risk mitigation.
The busiest routes in the state are Victoria-Monterrey, Reynosa-Monterrey, Tampico-Ciudad Victoria, and the connections to the border and the coast.
