The arrival of the relic of Saint Jude Thaddeus to Tamaulipas has caused great excitement in the region. It arrived in Loma Alta on Saturday, March 15th, then landed in Mante and Altamira, and then continued its journey to the oil city.
This Monday, March 17th, the streets of Ciudad Madero were filled with fervor and devotion as the relic of Saint Jude Thaddeus was carried in procession to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The faithful gathered on the sidewalks, some with lit candles and others holding images of the saint, awaiting the reliquary’s arrival.
The sound of prayers and songs resounded, creating a solemn yet festive atmosphere, blending faith, hope, and gratitude.
As the procession progressed, devotees joined in a slow and thoughtful walk, accompanying the relic with prayers and praise.
The streets, adorned with flowers and flags in honor of the saint, became a scene of community unity, where children, youth, and adults shared the same feeling of devotion.
The beating of the dancers’ drums announced the image’s proximity to its final destination, and many took the opportunity to touch the reliquary or leave written petitions, confident of receiving the saint’s intercession for difficult matters.
Finally, the relic arrived at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, where it was received with applause and expressions of gratitude, as well as by the parish priest, Daniel Zapata Huesca, who urged the faithful to maintain order as the image entered the procession, carried by a group of volunteers to the front of the church.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, the decision was made to leave the church open all night so that devotees could continue paying homage to the patron saint of difficult causes. Some came to pray for health, work, or solutions to personal problems, while others came simply to express their gratitude for favors granted.
