The Tamaulipas government, headed by Américo Villarreal Anaya, reinforces its commitment to humanitarian assistance to migrants within the framework of the Humanitarian Repatriation Program, coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior (Segob).
In a virtual meeting with Rosa Icela Rodríguez, head of the Segob, and other border leaders, Villarreal highlighted the collaboration with the National Migration Institute (INM) to guarantee dignified treatment for repatriates.
In the face of possible mass deportations from the United States, Tamaulipas will implement strategic measures aligned with the humanist policy of President Claudia Sheinbaum, seeking to prioritize respect for human rights and the well-being of migrants.
In addition, the creation of 25 shelters on the northern border was announced, with the capacity to serve up to 2,500 people per shelter, offering food, health and education services. Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Matamoros will be some of the key locations in Tamaulipas to provide comprehensive support to migrants during their repatriation process.
