The Secretary of Tourism in Tamaulipas, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, held a meeting with a commission of ejidatarios from Alta Cima to strengthen tourism development in the area.
“The point is to strengthen the sector, with more and better infrastructure, more qualified service providers and with certification seals that consolidate us as a reference in quality and services,” he explained.
He said that for the governor, Américo Villarreal Anaya, tourism development that benefits all areas of the state is a priority without leaving aside the issue of security and protection for tourists.
During his tour of the municipality of Gómez Farías, the state official also actively participated in the course that the hiking guides are receiving to have a certificate that guarantees responsibility and certainty that they are in good hands.
“In this regard, he stressed that this first group of guides who are being certified under the official Mexican standard NOM-09-TUR-2002 are trained in various techniques for ascent and descent, including at 30 meters and in various terrains,” he explained.
It should be noted that the hikers are also trained in first aid to be able to provide a timely response if needed, among other areas, aimed at certifying their services, he concluded.
