President Andrés Manuel López Obrador himself reported that the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), Admiral Rafael Ojeda Durán, has tested postivie for Covid-19.

He pointed out that for that reason he did not accompany him to the technical visit he made to the Peñitas dam.

“This time he is not accompanying us because he is affected by the Covid. Fortunately, the Navy Secretary is fine; that is why the person in charge of all the dredging actions of the Secretary of the Navy is here, Rear Admiral Ángel Julián Melo Moya, deputy general director of works and dredging”, AMLO declared.

Ojeda reported hours later that he is quarantined at his home and is asymptomatic.

Through a message on his Twitter account, he reported: “I share with you that from now on I will be in isolation for testing positive for Covid-19. I am asymptomatic and will continue to work from home, following medical indications, and supporting my Senior Navy Officials to give continuity to our work. “

Sources from Semar indicated that according to the Organic Law of the Navy, the secretary will rely on the undersecretary, the chief of the General Staff, the senior officer, the inspector, and his comptroller for the leadership of the unit.

The secretary was reviewed by Naval Health personnel, who confirmed the contagion and assured that so far he does not show any symptoms of the disease.
