Mexico City. Faced with non-compliance with the payment of wages and grocery vouchers, the union of the Confederación de Trabajadores de México (CTM), section 15, which represents Interjet employees, called the airline to strike on October 20 in the event of not make the respective settlements.
In a statement that the union sent to the affected workers, it indicated that last week they had a meeting with the company before authorities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, where they demanded an explanation for the lack of payments that they agreed would be made last. October 7.
“The union representation stated that it is unprecedented that there is so little seriousness in the payment commitments that are acquired with their workers, even when these are documented in minutes drawn up before the labor authorities. The company apologized for not having been able to make the respective payments, stating informally, (no longer in a record because they fear they will look bad again) that on Tuesday, October 13, the two fortnight’s late with the possibility are likely to be covered. to cover salaries as they have money ”.
For this reason, said the union representation, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, in order to follow up on this commitment, called them again for October 13. “We have continued to dialogue with the shareholders of the company and they confirm that they are going to fly the company, that they are taking all the steps so that they can reach satisfactory negotiations with the authorities so that the injection of the money goes directly to the operation and thus generate enough income to cover all your debts.
“Faced with this uncertain scenario, the path that the trade union organization has chosen is the legal one; Our rights are being claimed before the labor authority through the summons to strike and in which they gave us a hearing date for October 16 of this year before the Federal Board of Conciliation and Arbitration, with an outbreak date of October 20, 2020, at 10:00 hours, prior approval made by the majority of the company’s workers ”.
Section 15 of the union that represents Interjet workers, urged the airline’s shareholders to “speed up the negotiations if they need us we will be there, just be in solidarity and make the effort to pay the fortnights and food vouchers to eat and to be able to move to work ”he added.
