As part of the actions implemented by the Tamaulipas State Traffic Directorate of the Public Security Secretariat (SSPT) during the 2026 Summer vacation period, various operations are being conducted randomly to strengthen road safety awareness and accident prevention.
Some of the factors identified as the main causes of accidents during this season are: speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, and riding motorcycles without the required safety equipment, explained the State Traffic Director, Juan Manuel Martínez Luévano.
Therefore, in addition to the “Radar” operation, which is active on the Juan Capitán-El Chihue section of the highway, the “Safe Motorcycle” and “Drinking Alcohol” operations have been activated. These are being implemented randomly on the Altamira-Tampico Highway and the United Nations Bypass in Ciudad Victoria. “All three operations can be carried out on the same highway, on different days and at different times,” he noted.
He added that in the event of any violation of current legislation, the corresponding fines will be applied according to the established schedule.
It should be noted that, during this holiday period, State Traffic officers are supplementing the security and assistance provided by the State Highway Patrol on their assigned sections of the road.
