Following the National Public Security Strategy, Tamaulipas continues to strengthen its four fundamental pillars: addressing the root causes of crime; consolidating security forces; strengthening intelligence and investigation capabilities; and comprehensive coordination, resulting in the recovery of public spaces that drive economic activity in the state.
In this regard, the Secretary of Public Security of Tamaulipas, Carlos Arturo Pancardo Escudero, endorsed Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya’s statements regarding how the construction of 15 Secure Stations along the border contributes to international trade at the Port of Matamoros and the headquarters of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) in Nuevo Laredo.
This strategic distribution will allow for an estimated response time of between five and ten minutes due to the 25-kilometer distance between each facility, guaranteeing an efficient police response to various emergencies.
In addition to road repairs, he noted that efforts are being coordinated with municipalities and the federal government to maintain existing green spaces and urban areas, which contributes to improving the perception of safety.
He indicated that these actions complement the technological equipment of the Tamaulipas Public Security Secretariat (SSPT) and its coordinated efforts with other agencies to fulfill the four key areas and continue making progress in national indicators related to this issue.
