Access to La Pesca Beach is charged; it could raise more than 7 million without transparency.

The announcement of a “voluntary” 70-peso fee per person to enter La Pesca Beach during Holy Week has sparked debate in Soto la Marina, where residents are questioning not only the measure itself, but also the complete lack of transparency regarding where the money will go.

💸⚠️ The numbers are compelling:
During Holy Week 2025, the beach received over 106,000 visitors. If this figure is repeated this year, the municipality could collect 7,420,000 pesos.

A substantial sum that, to date, has no clear destination or public oversight mechanisms.

This is where public discontent arises:
💸⚠️ There is no transparent record of how many people enter.
No clear plan has been presented on how the money will be spent.
⛔ There are no public reports or operating rules.
⛔ It has not been explained how the funds will be audited.
Although it has been mentioned that the revenue could be channeled to the municipal DIF (Family Services) agency, there are no official documents to support this or guarantees of accountability.

📢 The question is straightforward:
Who will oversee these more than 7 million pesos?
Which bank account will it go into?… or will it be kept in cash in the municipality’s general expenses fund/DIF account? Will it end up in the next election campaigns?

Furthermore, the measure is also generating concern in the tourism sector. Merchants and visitors warn that this fee could impact visitor numbers, as it represents an additional expense for thousands of families.

In a context where transparency is a social demand, these kinds of unclear decisions fuel public distrust and leave more questions than answers.

👉 Is this a measure to improve services… or simply a way to raise revenue without clear oversight? What do you think?
