The number of visitors increased by 22.7% and the economic impact exceeded 16 billion pesos, reported the State Tourism Secretariat.

The Tamaulipas State Tourism Secretariat confirmed that 2025 became the best year for tourism in the state’s history, after registering record numbers of visitors, economic impact, and hotel occupancy.

The head of the agency, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, attributed these results to the public policy promoted by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, based on a comprehensive promotion strategy and the strengthening of the state’s tourist destinations.

According to official figures, Tamaulipas received 14,194,541 visitors in 2024, while in 2025 the figure rose to 17,417,411.

This represents an increase of 22.7%, or 3,222,870 additional visitors compared to the previous year.

The economic impact also showed significant progress. In 2025, the economic impact reached 16,024,018,000 pesos, representing a 24 percent increase compared to 2024.

Hernández Rodríguez highlighted that this result is due to the development of new, high-impact tourism products and the promotion of the state at national and international tourism fairs, congresses, and trade shows.

Regarding average annual hotel occupancy, the indicator rose from 54.3% in 2024 to 56.3% in 2025, an increase of 1.98 percentage points.

The official emphasized that these figures reflect visitor confidence and the consolidation of Tamaulipas as a competitive destination.

Finally, the Ministry of Tourism noted that, under the administration of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, Tamaulipas continues to make history in tourism, with a growth trend that strengthens the regional economy and job creation in the sector.
