With just one month to go, Tamaulipas is preparing to host the Mexico Carbon Forum 2025, an international gathering that will bring together more than 3,500 attendees from 30 countries and 170 speakers specializing in energy transition, carbon markets, and actions against climate change.
The forum, taking place in Tampico, represents a historic opportunity for the state to place itself at the center of the global conversation on sustainability. Thanks to the efforts of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, Tamaulipas will not only host the event, but also participate in a space where strategies for reforestation, sustainable mobility, industrial decarbonization, and clean energy projects will be defined.
The Secretary of Urban Development and Environment, Karina Lizeth Saldívar Lartigue, highlighted the significance of this event: “It is a key moment to demonstrate that Tamaulipas has the capacity to lead innovative solutions to climate change and to turn these agreements into real benefits for our communities.”
He noted that the impact will be immediate in sectors such as tourism, commerce, and services, and in the long term will allow for the promotion of circular economy, sustainable mobility, and renewable energy projects. In addition, new training opportunities will be opened for local companies and stakeholders in carbon project financing and traceability.
Saldívar Lartigue commented that, with the collaboration of the municipalities of Tampico, Ciudad Madero, and Altamira, the Government of Tamaulipas seeks to ensure that the forum’s results translate into sound public policies, sustainable investments, and active citizen participation.
The Mexico Carbon Forum 2025 is not just an event; it is an opportunity to consolidate Tamaulipas as an international epicenter for environmental innovation and climate action, a firm step toward responsible economic development and the sustainable future that the state deserves.
