After 10 years, and following a complaint filed on social media, a family working in the United States evicted alleged squatters from their home in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
Squatters had been living in the Tamaulipas home for 10 years.
According to videos posted on TikTok, user @highdaniela, named Daniela, shared a video of the moment her mother, Irma Guadalupe, confronted two women who lived in the property.
During the conversation, Irma stated that she had the documents to prove she was the owner, adding, “Laugh, laugh, because he who laughs last. What you should have is shame.”
In a subsequent video, Daniela explained that the squatters initially came to rent the house. Although they paid for the first few months, they later stopped paying for a period of 10 years.
Five years ago, they initiated legal proceedings, but it wasn’t until about two months ago that they decided to return to Mexico to recover their home.
“For the past 10 years, several of our relatives have tried to talk to these people, but they don’t open the door, they don’t talk, or they don’t want to talk to them. About five years ago, my parents started hiring lawyers and trying to legally resolve the problem from the United States. Two months ago, we came to Mexico with the idea of getting our house back, of making our lives here in Mexico.”

“Your smile disappeared”
The TikTok video of the complaint about the home invasion in Tampico was made public on June 27, but it wasn’t until this weekend that they successfully evicted the people.
One of the women who refused to leave the property was even assaulted before leaving.
In the end, the family, who were in the United States for work, celebrated the eviction of the squatters in the city of Tampico with the people.
