Under the slogan “Let’s take care of our beaches and promote a culture of respect and conservation among all,” the Ministry of Tourism in Tamaulipas organized the cleaning of Playa Miramar in Ciudad Madero.
Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, head of the department, accompanied by the next municipal president of Tampico, Mónica Villarreal Anaya, among other representatives of the government of Altamira and Madero, universities and the general public, participated in this campaign.
“These days not only seek the physical cleaning of our beaches, but also to raise awareness, especially among young people, about the importance of taking care of our environment,” said the official within the framework of the International Beach Cleanup Day 2024.
“If we do not eliminate waste from the beaches, it will end up in the ocean, affecting marine life, our coastal economies and the experience of those who enjoy our beaches,” he said.
Any date or day is good to contribute to the cleaning of our surroundings both in the city and in rivers, beaches, parks, etc.
He pointed out that, as Governor Américo Villarreal points out, a participatory and collaborative society is required, as on this occasion, where there was a large participation of personnel from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, ICEST, the University of the Northeast, CETIS 109, Civil Protection, State Guard, Navy, Red Cross, business organizations, as well as representatives of the Altamarítima company and tourism companies, among others, he concluded.
