The Holy Week and Easter holidays will lead to an economic spill of more than 140 billion pesos for the Commerce, Services and Tourism sector, favored mainly by the rebound in internal consumption, estimated CONCANACO SERVYTUR Mexico.
More than 10 million national tourists will travel during this period, between Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 24, through Mexican territory. Thus, the main tourist destinations report, through the National Chambers coordinated by the Directorate of Tourism, an average hotel occupancy expectation of over 75 percent.
Acapulco, 80 percent; Mazatlan, 90 percent; Mexico City, 75 percent, Puerto Vallarta, 65 percent; Baja California Sur, 80 percent; Mayan Riviera, 90 percent; Veracruz, 95 percent; San Cristóbal de las Casas, 90 percent, Yucatán, 80 percent; San Juan del Rio, 80 percent; Oaxaca, 90 percent; Tamaulipas, 90 percent; Nuevo Leon, 78 percent; and Coahuila, 75 percent; to mention just a few of these destinations.
The preference for Mexican tourist destinations and the green traffic light for epidemic risk will favor consumption in hotels, restaurants, carriers and businesses of other types, which, however, face the international inflationary phenomenon.
“For Mexican businessmen, especially those dedicated to tourism, Holy Week and Easter is one of the most important holiday seasons of the year and, after a complicated 2021, it represents a very important benefit for their economy, which is everyone’s”, explained the president of CONCANACO SERVYTUR Mexico, Héctor Tejada Shaar.
The president of the Confederation also asked to continue maintaining all safety and hygiene measures against Covid-19 and to go to formal establishments, the only ones capable of offering guarantees to consumers and collaborators.
