Querétaro was the only state in which the application of a dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 was not achieved on the first day of this campaign because there were fewer milliliters than what has to be applied, said the undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López Gatell.
“In this specific case, the dose requires having 3 milliliters and only 2 milliliters were obtained,” he indicated.
He explained that they cannot apply fewer doses to a person, so they preferred to tell him to return next Tuesday so that he can be vaccinated.
This December 24, 2,924 doses were applied, although they had planned to be 2,925; Of that total, 975 were in the General Hospital of Mexico, in the 22 military zones of the State of Mexico, and in the 17 military zone of Querétaro.
The undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López Gatell pointed out that he estimates that 10% of the doses of the vaccines cannot be applied and are discarded, however, it is expected.
“This is common to happen in the operation of vaccination programs, sometimes it is estimated that there may be a waste,” he indicated.
Regarding the effects of the vaccine, the federal official explained that they recorded 24 events attributable to vaccination, which were vagal reflexes, hypoglycemia, dizziness, spasms, laryngeal, myalgia, arthralgia, and fever.
Regarding the application day in Querétaro, the director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zóe Robledo Aburto indicated that 310 personnel from the state Health Secretariat were vaccinated in the entity, 298 from the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS ), 156 from the ISSSTE, 67 from the Secretariat of National Defense, 16 from the Secretariat of the Navy, 28 from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), and 100 from the vaccination cells.
