The State Tourism Secretariat will visit the municipalities with the category of Magic Town and call the service providers to reinforce the sanitary protocols when families visit the premises; an action that seeks to reduce the Covid 19 incidence of contagion.
After the municipality of Tonatico became the 10th Mexico State municipality appointed as Magic Town, the State’s Undersecretary of Tourism, Denisse Ugalde, highlighted the beginning of work tours in the tourist regions to take care of, and strengthen the sanitary measures.
“What we have as a priority objective is to continue strengthening health security measures, I believe that today it is essential to give a message to all potential visitors to the State of Mexico, that here we are complying with the hygiene and security protocols, we are being especially careful with all the establishments that have to do with the tourism sector. We obviously want tourists to feel safe when they visit the State of Mexico” Ugalde said.
She stressed that outstanding service providers will be awarded the Safe Travels badge from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as a measure to encourage activity.
“We are going to start today, we’re going to Villa del Carbón with the municipal authorities because all service providers need to be monitored to verify they are complying with the health protocols. This is very important, as it is one of the tools we have to give certainty and guarantee the safety of our visitors and tourism service providers”, Ugalde continued.
The State’s Undersecretary of Tourism, Denisse Ugalde, recalled that the State of Mexico, in the period from March to July, the period of confinement forced by the pandemic, decreased its records of tourist influx by up to 56 percent , compared to the same period of the previous year, this when the economic spill that generated for our entity represents around 6.3 percent of the state GDP .
